Small Repairs and Installs Around Honolulu
We fix and install the small things that pile up in a Honolulu home: doors, drywall, louvers, fixtures, shelves, faucets. This page covers what that includes, what it does not, who we hand work to, and how a visit runs from your first message to the last walk-through.

What does this handyman service take on?
This handyman service takes on the repairs and small installs that are too small for a remodeler and too many for one weekend. Sticking doors and worn jalousie operators. Drywall holes, tired tub caulk and loose tile. Ceiling fans and light fixtures on existing boxes, faucets and toilets, TV mounts, shelving, grab bars, window AC units and flat-pack furniture, in Honolulu houses and condos and out across Oahu. When a job needs a new circuit, new wiring, or a drain or supply line moved, we tell you plainly that it is work for an electrician or a plumber. Whole remodels, pest problems and fixing broken appliances are outside what we do.

From the first message to the finished list
A visit starts with your list and ends with each item gone over in front of you. You send the jobs and a few photos. We reply with questions or a written quote, then set a time that fits your building's rules. On the day we walk the list with you first, because the order matters: the fixture that needs the power off goes before the shelf above it. If an item turns out bigger than the photos showed, you hear about it before it is touched.
- Questions asked before anything is guessed
- Written quote before a tool comes out
- Building work hours and notice respected
- Every item checked with you at the end
- Dust and offcuts cleaned from the work area
- Out-of-scope items named, never quietly skipped

What kind of homes does Honolulu have?
Honolulu and the rest of Oahu have a split housing stock, part detached house and part apartment building. Census estimates count 169,705 single detached homes and 152,832 units in buildings of three or more, out of 372,329 in all, and 136,375 of the 337,061 occupied homes are rented. Most went up between 1940 and 1989, so original hardware is still a large share of the work. In the urban core the balance tips further toward towers, with 48 percent of units in buildings of 20 or more.
For a handyman that means two kinds of day. In a condo the work stays inside the unit, the building sets the hours, and parking is part of the plan. In a house it can run from a jalousie on the lanai to a gate in the side yard, and older single-wall homes need fastening that goes into boards, not hollow wall. Newer tracts in Kapolei and Ewa Gentry bring the opposite list: builder-grade towel bars, closet shelves and blinds that were never anchored well in the first place.

We would rather tell you a job belongs to someone else than do it badly. You get a written quote before we start, a straight answer on whether to repair or replace, and a walk through every item with you before we pack up the truck. If the part you need has not reached the island yet, we say so instead of forcing a near fit.
